Léa Lafugie (1890-1972) was a painter who traveled throughout Asia. She is renowned for her portraits. She studied at the École des Arts Décoratifs and then at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. With an adventurous and curious spirit, she decided to travel to Asia in 1925, notably to China, India, Tibet, Japan, and the Indochinese peninsula.
