This painting is dated 1934
Rudolf SCHWEITZER CUMPANA was a Romanian painter born in 1886 and died in 1975.
Born in PITESTI into a family of German origin, he attended the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin from 1904 to 1909, where he studied with Erich Hancke, Arthur Kampf and Anton van Werner.
He then returned to Romania, where he worked extensively on scenes and portraits inspired by village life, houses, still lifes, churches and monasteries.
