« Polar Bear », model created between 1921 and 1924. Example in Sèvres biscuit porcelain, 1933 edition by the Manufacture. Signed on the reverse with the manufacture’s mark known as the marque à la rose, date-letter F for 1933, initials H.R. for the moulder (Henri Robert – active 1889 to 1933). H.: 21 cm – L.: 43.5 cm – W.: 10 cm

Provenance: contract signed on 5 November 1923 between François Pompon and the Manufacture for the edition of the piece; contract ended January 1934. 632 examples were produced in biscuit porcelain, crackle glaze and glazed versions.
