Cantonese porcelain plate, China, for the European market, first half of the 19th century, with a central decoration in famille rose enamels of a court scene against a lakeside backdrop, with six richly dressed figures chatting around a table; the scene is bordered by a gilt border.
The rim is decorated with chrysanthemums, fruit, and foliage, adorned with shimmering insects and butterflies. The border is also highlighted by a gilt border.
The plate is 20.5 cm in diameter. It is in very good condition, note three very small chips, highlighted in the last three photos.
