A Parisian porcelain cup from the Empire period, a beautiful model enhanced by a rich frieze of Greek key patterns, meticulously gilded with fine gold in a matte and burnished finish (burnished with agate). A superior quality piece—the gilding is particularly deep and the motif highly sophisticated—from the Empire period. Unsigned, the cup is attributed to the Dagoty factory.

The quality of the decoration and gilding could be the work of several major Parisian manufacturers; however, the presence of the stylized floral medallion in the center of the saucer suggests that this cup is by Dagoty, who favored these radiant, solar, or highly symmetrical floral motifs in the center of plates, saucers, and other flatware.

The set is in excellent condition. The gilding, of very high quality, is remarkably fresh, with no damage.
