In my opinion, this is an exceptionally nice porcelain plate. The rather attractive grey tone of the blue is unusual, but, apparently it is one of the three shades found on Kangxi blue and white pieces. The pattern is also quite unusual, although elements of it are typical of that reign. The base is unmarked, but there are chattermarks which are quite hard to photograph but I have tried. The rim feels thinly potted but the base feels like a good, sturdy weight.
Unfortunately the plate has a chip with two associated hairlines, although one is very small. This has a rather old-looking repair but it seems to have stabilised it and it can always be re-done professionally. There are plenty of rim frits as is often the case with Kangxi plates. The rim has had a brown dressing and it does seem to have protected the part it covers as the majority of the frits and chips are on the underside. There are several kiln faults, notably on the cracking on the base and a couple of small holes. There are also pops in the cobalt. You will notice too that there are some small indentations under the rim, possibly from fingers.
This is quite a large plate measuring just over 27 cms across and it stands approximately 4 cms high. The weight is about 616 g.
