Set of three plates with Imari decoration in Chinese porcelain. Yongzheng period (1722-1735). Underglaze blue decoration enhanced with iron red and gold enamel with peony and foliage motifs. Of Japanese origin, Imari porcelain was produced in the former province of Hizen on the island of Kyūshū mainly in the kilns of the city of Arita. Until the end of the 18th century, porcelain from this province was exported from the port of Imari which gives its name to this production. This decoration was imitated by China from around 1720. Note some tiny chips.
