This piece is listed in Michel SOUCHON's book on the Manufacture de Montières, page 22, under number 20 in the shapes directory.
Produced around 1917, when Désiré BORCK founded and bought the factory, this piece was made by Jean BAROL, an experienced potter, who took over artistic direction of the ceramics workshop. A former pupil of Clément MASSIER, he was one of the most famous ceramists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
