Large porcelain ewer, in bright colors, from the 19th century and probably from Germany.

The piedouche is decorated with intertwined sea monsters; the body is in movement thanks to the numerous newts, putti and animals (dolphins): on each side a woman surrounded by a colored veil is breastfeeding a child or playing with the puttis.

A nymph supporting a shell serves as a handle, the cover is formed by a baby riding on a dolphin and blowing into a conch.

Some accidents on this ewer with numerous characters in relief (reglued heads, see photos) and a cooking crack under the base.
