Superb fine white cookie porcelain vase from the Porcelainerie de l'Arnon
decorated with a rooster on the front and a flock of birds on the back.
Height 21 cm, oval shape 8.5 cm by 7 cm (see photos).
The Sarreguemines faiencerie, founded in 1778, suffered massive bombing in 1940, destroying most of the factory.....except for 50 armored chambers containing the precious molds dating back to the early days of procelaine production. It was in this treasure trove that the Asian collection, christened Marco Polo, and many rare pieces were found.
Sarreguemines entrusted the porcelainerie de l'Arnon with the original molds to enable these objects to be reissued.
The present vase is one such example, prized not only by enthusiasts and collectors, but also by lovers of beautiful, charming objects to give as gifts!
