Portuguese ceramist born in the village of Oliveira near Barcelos in the Minho region. Born into an ancient family of potters, Francisco began working in the family workshop at the age of 7.
In 1972, Francisco Pereira was recruited by Roger Jacques. Francisco was chosen for his consistency in working large pieces. He continued to work in the area, developing a diversified and meticulous production of utilitarian and decorative stoneware. Although influenced by the daily work of Saint-Amand potters, his production is recognizable and personal. Francisco experiments with new textures, matte and glossy glazes and layering.
He has collaborated with Robert héraud & Annie Maume, Jeanne et Norbert Pierlot and others.
