Annie Maume is a French ceramist born in 1943, descended from a dynasty of potters from Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye, France. She is the wife of the late painter and ceramist Robert Héraud (1924-2010). Together, they worked in their studio at l'Orme-aux-Loups, at the foot of the Sancerre hill, where Annie modeled and Robert perfected glazes.

Annie Maume began her apprenticeship in ceramics in 1966 after meeting Robert Héraud, whose pictorial works and personality she had fallen in love with. She moved in with him and began working in ceramics, an art in which she has remained faithful throughout her career.

With humor, Annie Maume's sculptures and bas-reliefs are capable of lifting the dullness from our minds, taking us back to the days when, as free children, we told ourselves scary stories.

Annie Maume and Robert Héraud exhibited their work in several galleries, including Artisanat Réalité in Paris from 1972 to 1985. Their work has been selected for major exhibitions, such as the one organized for the twentieth anniversary of the Artisanat Réalité gallery.

Annie Maume continues to work in her studio and gallery called "Sancerre", even after Robert Héraud's death.
