    Large stoneware pitcher on heel signed Michel Anasse in Vallauris, cylindrical shape slightly flared at the top, brown speckled enamel on a gray background.

    Michel Anasse (1935-2020)
    Ceramist and sculptor with his wife Nicole (1937-2012). After two visits to Vallauris in 1953 and 1955 with Jean Derval, Gilbert Portanier and Les Argonautes, they opened the "Les Issarts" studio in 1956. He went on to exhibit in France and abroad. In 1977, they opened a new studio, "La Frache", in Jausiers (Alpes de Haute Provence).
