    Jacques Pouchain (1927-2015)
Jacques Pouchain studied architecture in Paris. After a stint at the Grande Chaumière workshop, he began a career as a painter in 1951, then settled in Dieulefit in the Drôme. In the Coursange earthenware factory in Poet-Laval, he learned ceramics, his talent as a painter allowed him to modernize the decorations and renew the forms. In 1958, in Dieulefit, he decided to open his own ceramic workshop and produced unique pieces with figurative motifs engraved in the earth and enameled in brown and black tones.
