Vase in salted sandstone with flamed glaze with iridescence, from the Bouffioulx factory in Belgium.
This blue, green and fire-brown vase is the work of artist Roger Guérin (1896-1954), a renowned ceramist during the Art Deco period. He notably obtained the silver medal at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1925 and achieved international recognition during his exhibition at the Jensen Gallery in New York in 1947.
This ball vase has four handles giving it originality and balance. It is signed and numbered.
Incredibly modern, it marvelously marries the mineral nature of sandstone and powerful hues blending gently.
