Elegant sculpture in bronze with brown patina signed Truffot.
This work represents a woman standing with her hands joined, next to her dog. She is dressed in a long dress and is leaning against a tree trunk. Her companion is sitting beside her, staring at her.
The terrace, decorated with a sheaf of wheat, bears the signature of its author Emile-Louis Truffot (1843-1895).
Truffot is a French sculptor known for having realized the fight of the rabid dog with the shepherd Jean-Baptiste Jupille, this young man that Pasteur saved by inoculating his famous vaccine against rabies.
The set rests on a swivel base with throat.
Touching and refined, this bronze will please art lovers for the finesse of its realization.
