Bronze with brown patina by the Parisian sculptor Edouard Pasteur, member of the French Artists since 1805, representing Bacchus as a child.
In the guise of a young child with a chubby body, reminiscent of the putti of the Italian Renaissance, the deity of the Vine, wine and festivities is shown standing, holding an empty cup in his left hand. His precarious balance seems to be assured by his right hand, holding onto a vine. A crown of bunches of grapes and foliage encircles his forehead and his curly hair, the usual attributes of the son of Jupiter. Laughing and cheerful, the young god enjoys the pleasures of life.
You will inevitably be seduced by the freshness and lightness of this two hundred year old bronze with mythological inspirations.
