    Description :
Chiseled bronze with a light brown patina.

This panel made by Barbedienne (signature engraved with a burin) represents one of the panels that the sculptor Della Robbia made to decorate a cantoria or cantor's gallery located in the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence.
For the record, Donatello and Della Robbia each created a cantoria for the same location in the cathedral, and they now stand opposite each other.
This panel as the other panels of the cantoria represents a choir of children and adults, and on each panel the choir uses only the same instrument (cimbales, trumpets, voices ...).
For our panel they are tambourines.
The large size of this bronze panel restores the statuary of the original model.
