Bronze statuette of Buddha. He is represented seated on a double base in the posture of meditation: legs in the attitude of the lotus (vajraparyanka), the hands placed in his lap (dhyana mudra), the back of the right hand resting on the palm of the left hand . He is dressed in the samgathi, the monastic habit, leaving the right shoulder uncovered, a piece of the fabric placed on the left shoulder and falling in a straight line on the navel. The very gentle face is characterized by perfectly curved eyebrow arches overhanging almond-shaped eyes with closed eyelids indicating a deep meditative state, a small hooked nose surmounts a small half-open mouth with thin lips. The skull receives the cranial protuberance (usnisa) from which emerges a high rasmi, the ears with distended lobes symbolizing the royal origin of the Buddha.
Solid bronze with a beautiful old patina.
