Albatross on a Wave – Large Model
An important silvered bronze sculpture of an albatross perched on a wave. The piece is signed and bears the Susse Frères foundry mark, as well as the inscription "wax lost."
The bronze rests on a varnished wooden base bearing a commemorative plaque indicating that it was presented to Lieutenant Bellonte by the Le Havre Aero Club and the people of Le Havre on October 24, 1930, upon his return to France.
