19th century. Naples, circa 1870.
Representing "Narcissus", after the antique discovered in 1862 in Pompeii and preserved in the Naples archaeological museum.
Finely chased, beautiful black patina.
Circular base with rais de cœur frieze.

These sculptures were produced as part of the "Grand Tour" collections, created in the 19th century by mainly Italian and French sculptors for tourists visiting Europe.
