Leopold Eugene Kampf ,  born in 1822, is a famous French academic sculptor . 
He attended the Saint Cyr Military School and entered the army as an officer in the early 1840s , where he held the ranks of lieutenant and colonel , he participated in numerous campaigns . 
He used his experience of military life to create detailed sculptures of military figures . 
Kampf exhibited at the Paris Salon . 
His works are characterized by great finesse of chiseling .
