Bronze depicting an offering to Priapus: a nude maenad or bacchante presses against a stele surmounted by a satyr bust representing the god Priapus. The whole is beautifully executed; the satyr's face is very delicate, and the young woman's lascivious pose suggests her intentions.
Garlands of vine tendrils adorn the stele.
The overall effect is very harmonious.

Clodion's signature is on the back of the bronze; of course, this bronze is not by Clodion, but it bears his signature because it is in the style of some of this famous artist's works.
Beautiful patina, slightly worn in places; please examine the photos carefully.

A charming bronze, an allegory of sensuality.

    Dimensions: 35 cm high.
