Rare pair of white marble busts representing King Charles I of England (1600-1649) and King Henry IV, King of France (1553-1610).
They both rest on a column of orbicular Diorite marble from Corsica, itself surmounting a bronze base, with scrapers and a row of pearls.
Also known as Corsite or Napoleonite, this marble began to be used in 1785.
Busts made in the famous Joseph Rosset workshop in Saint Claude in the Jura region.
