This cast-iron sculpture depicts a seated dog in a calm, attentive posture, standing in front of a game animal such as a partridge or pheasant.
The animal is wearing a collar, a sign of domestication and hunting use.
This piece illustrates the strong bond between man and dog in the XXᵉ century, in a realistic and popular aesthetic.
It evokes the values of loyalty, skill and rusticity often associated with traditional hunting.
