Rémy Peyranne, internationally renowned artist.
Born in Toulouse on October 9, 1935, he entered the Toulouse Ecole des Beaux-Arts in 1952 and graduated. In 1958, he qualified for the Prix de Rome for painting.
During his studies, he practiced Drawing, Painting, Architectural Drawing, Sculpture and Engraving, and in 1958 became a Laureate of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de TOULOUSE (the fourth laureate since the establishment of the school).
For five years, he studied under Raoul BERGOUGNAN, his teacher, and a host of other brilliant professors. The first of his many exhibitions began in PAU in 1957. In 1958, the second took place in TOULOUSE at the Galerie du Taur, where he met Renée ASPE, following in her footsteps.
In 1963 in PARIS, gallery owner Emmanuel DAVID introduced him to Bernard BUFFET, who gave him invaluable advice.
In 1967, he was appointed Professor of Architectural Drawing at the Atelier Supérieur des Beaux-Arts de la Ville Rose.
In 1994, the City of TOULOUSE bought him a "Pont St Pierre" (St Peter's Bridge), dear to the hearts of Toulousans, as a gift for French President François MITTERRAND, who was visiting the City Hall.
From 2000 to 2001, his research evolved, and in 2002 he tackled NON-FIGURATION. This was the culmination of fifty years' work.
