Pair of Orientalist sculptures in polychrome terra cotta from the French Napoleon III period.
The man is represented as in the Arab tradition, with the folds of the tunic skilfully reproduced by the artist's hand, who leaves nothing to idealistic transfigurations and faithfully brings us the visual data.
The drapery has a strong plastic connotation, given the strong chiaroscuro visible in low-angled light.
The woman is also depicted in traditional clothing and possesses the same sculptural qualities as the man.
The artist's signature and inventory number appear on the back.
