Bust of Marianne in patinated metal entitled "The Republic" after the work of Theodore Doriot. This renowned sculptor, a student of Rude, made his debut at the Salon des Artistes in 1868 and produced this bust in 1880.
Marianne is wearing a plant crown of wheat and a headband with the inscription "Honneur et Patrie". She is dressed in armor covered with a draped toga and a collar with medallions representing the institutions promoted by the Republic (Agriculture, Commerce, Fine Arts, Education, Justice, Sciences, Navy and Industry). On the base, the initials RF frame the lictor beams (Executive Power) and a balance (Justice).
