By Pierre Cordier, sculptor born in Saint-Laurent-les-Macon in 1853 and died in 1925, this large original terracotta piece depicts a dreamy-looking young girl in clogs seated on an ivy-covered low wall, preparing to fill her jug - At her feet, a split jug lies on the ground - Subject both bucolic and melancholy, full of symbolic undertones (ivy: attachment; split jug: loss of virginity...).The sculptor was curator of the Louhans en Bresse museum in 1885.
