Ancestor head known as "Tau-Tau" from the Toraja people of the Celebes Islands (Sulawesi) in Indonesia. Late 19th/early 20th century.
The work retains its original brown pigments mixed with white halos. The absence of eyes reinforces the expression of gravity and interiority.
