“caquetière” armchairs in carved oak, dating from the 19th century, featuring refined Gothic and Renaissance-inspired decoration. The backs display delicate tracery patterns, while the curved armrests provide both elegance and comfort.
These chairs illustrate the 19th-century French revival of Medieval and Renaissance forms, with the characteristic trapezoidal seat echoed in the lower stretcher. The fluted columns supporting the armrests subtly evoke Gothic cathedral architecture, blending seamlessly with the more rounded Renaissance-inspired lines.
A representative example of neo-Gothic furniture, combining functional design and decorative sophistication, ideal for collectors and enthusiasts of historic furniture.
