Martin Delaporte (died 1756) - chair carpenter.
He ran a furniture carpentry workshop on Rue des Filles-Dieu Saint Sauveur.
Belonging to a prominent family of Parisian carpenters, Martin Delaporte was a very skilled chair maker. He is credited with producing beautiful, well-balanced Louis XV style armchairs. The MDLP stamp was used by Martin DELAPORTE's workshop from the 1740s onward.
His stamp is also found on Louis XVI-style chairs, which were likely executed by his nephew, Martin Nicolas, who took over his workshop and his stamp after his death.
