Pair of Empire style armchairs in solid beech, 19th century period.

The volute armrests are carved with dolphin motifs, a characteristic ornament of the Napoleonic decorative vocabulary. The front legs are saber, in accordance with the stylistic codes of the time; the hind feet are straight. The seats and backs are upholstered in burgundy/plum velvet, secured with a row of silver metal upholstery nails. The back of the armchairs has the beech structure left exposed, in a lighter shade than the front side.

Light wear consistent with the age of the parts, with no major deterioration noted.

Dimensions: H. 87 cm – L. 47 cm – Seat height: 40 cm – Unit weight: approximately 12 kg.
