Pair of Louis XV period carved walnut cantilever armchairs, typical Lyonnais work from the entourage of Pierre Nogaret, mid-18th century circa 1750 - 1760.

Beautifully decorated with generous, bold moldings, finely carved flowers and roses. Everything about these armchairs is elegant: sculpture, curves, counter-curves, precise proportions.

The 2 seats are in excellent condition. The joinery has been overhauled and is free of play. The caning is sound and tight. Belt repairs to one of the chairs. Reupholstered in this beautiful emerald-green silk, of which we have acquired a large yardage, enabling us to offer several matching Louis XV chairs to form an important ensemble.
