This large, handsome armchair in natural wood is from the Regency period, with a carved belt featuring shells, stylized leaves and small scrolls, resting on front legs adorned with a shell on a large leaf at the connection and a small scroll topped by two fleurons at the foot end. The armrests and armrest supports are richly embellished with acanthus leaves, shells, fleurons, curves and counter-curves. The back legs end in scrolls and the backrest is fully upholstered. In overall good condition, this venerable chair would benefit from a reupholstering and replacement of the fabric covering.
