MARCUS: a furniture maker who ran a workshop in Paris, located on Rue Amelot between 1827 and 1842 – but even during the Consulate and the Empire, he had invented a sofa with a curved back that bore his name. A pair of lemonwood chairs from the Tuileries Palace were exhibited at the Pavillon de Marsan in 1930.
Alexandre Jallot: maker of chairs, armchairs, and furniture. He worked successively at 4 rue d'Hauteville, 58 rue des Marais-Saint-Martin, 42 rue de la Tour d'Auvergne, Quai Voltaire, and 14 rue Marais-Saint-Germain. He received official commissions for the Crown Furniture Department in 1838.
