Chair model N°738 by Thonet and Mundus, here stamped Thonet, obviously dating from 1920/25, naturally attributed to Otto Prutscher. I refer to the even more typical N°738 XI by Prutscher for information.
The only documentation on this model, in PJ, comes from Jiri Uhlir's book, in which he writes:
"The highly successful Thonet 738 chair is still co-distributed by Thonet and Mundus. A total of 9 variants have been produced, marked with Roman numerals.
This is the basic model of the Category 738.
This chair is in very good original condition, has seen little use and seems never to have been produced in large numbers. Stamp and label.
Dimensions: Seat height, front: 47 cm, back: 46.5 cm - Total height: 92 cm.
