A superb French solid silver teapot (or ewer) in the Louis XV style, made by the silversmith Charles Harleux, as evidenced by his lozenge-shaped maker's mark.

It bears the Minerva 1st standard hallmark (950/1000), guaranteeing high-quality silver, and dates from the late 19th century (circa 1891).

This elegant piece features a baluster shape resting on four scrolled feet decorated in the rocaille style. The spout is richly molded with volutes, and the lid is surmounted by a foliate finial. Each side is adorned with a ribbon-tied medallion, one of which bears an elegant engraved monogram.
The quality of its chasing, its harmonious proportions, and the finesse of its execution testify to the skill of the silversmith Charles Harleux, active in Paris at the end of the 19th century.
