A sumptuous pair of chiseled silk velvet curtains, in a splendid champagne-gold hue with shimmering reflections, varying subtly depending on the light. The velvet, with its rich, moiré texture, evokes the great silks of Lyon and the most prestigious productions of the Maison Pierre Frey, to which this pair is attributed.
The bottom of each curtain is adorned with a tone-on-tone woven fringe braid, adding a precious and classic decorative touch. The set is completed with four original tiebacks, with twisted cord and generous tassels, perfectly matching, highlighting the quality of the tailoring and the attention to detail. Made to measure, these curtains feature regular hand-sewn pleating, a full lining, and a reinforced top braid. Their flowing, majestic drape reflects the high-quality craftsmanship intended for a prestigious setting.
Coming from the famous Villa Les Cèdres in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, a legendary residence that belonged to King Leopold II of Belgium, and later to illustrious private collectors, and recognized as one of the most prestigious and luxurious properties in the world, this pair exemplifies the quintessence of French taste in interior design.

Condition: Good overall condition, the velvet is sound and luminous, with minimal signs of wear consistent with its historical provenance, and some missing fringes.
We had the privilege of acquiring all of the curtains for Villa Les Cèdres, approximately sixty pairs of different designs, all custom-made and of exceptional quality.
