Rectangular clock, with wire movement, in gilt bronze and brown patina.
It features an important sculpture of young Paris, sitting on a rock, carrying a cane and holding an apple.
In mythology, Paris, then a herdsman on Mount Ida, meets the goddesses Hera, Athena and Aphrodite who are competing for the prize of beauty. Aphrodite, the winner, is given a golden apple by the shepherd as a trophy.
The bronze dial, with two hands and inscriptions in Roman numerals, is surrounded by a frieze of flowers.
The base is delicately chiseled in relief with a scepter and a spear crossing three interlaced garlands. The whole rests on four feet decorated with floral scrolls.
This clock, which has been running minute by minute for more than 200 years, will please for its elegance and the contrast of its patinas.
