    Important Empire or Directoire Period Clock

    Depicts Venus adjusting her diadem before a mirror held by Cupid.

    Exceptional chasing work typical of this period.
    Sculpted, gilded, and polished bronze with agate.
    The dial is signed "A PARIS."

    The base is adorned with a bas-relief of dancing putti, above which is a second bas-relief with chimeras surrounding the dial.
    The base is supported by four feet in the form of chimera claws holding a ball.

    The mechanism is in perfect working order.

    French work, circa 1800.
    The clock comes with its pendulum and original key.
    Some decorative elements are missing, and the rear foot is detached.
