Rare and important clock in the form of a covered vase
Made of Japanese porcelain with Imari decoration, this exceptional piece is distinguished by its elegant polychrome motifs, combining cameos of red, green and black on a white background. The dial, delicately applied in gilded bronze, features white enamel cartouches and finely worked snake-shaped hands, adding a singular touch of refinement.
The richly chased handles and rocaille-style base, also in gilt bronze, lend a sumptuous character typical of the eclectic taste of the XIXᵉ century. The lid, enhanced by a blue cabochon knob, completes the harmonious balance of this decorative and horological work.
