Superb original set of mantelpiece composed of a Portico half moon clock and a pair of tripod cassolettes forming candlesticks in white Carrara marble and chased and gilded bronzes in the Louis XVI style signed "Planchon à Paris" end of XIXth century.

Architecture of the clock: of form half-moon with four columns ringed of bronzes gilded forming temple Antique with in its center a radiant balance, it rests on four round feet with a moulding of pearls in bronzes gilded, on the top of the columns is laid out a flowery drapery with ribbons and a twisted moulding in bronzes gilded, the unit is surmounted with four buttons in exploded pomegranates and with a gallery openwork in bronzes gilded, in high part the cylinder rests on a truncated column molded in marble where thrones the movement with in front of a dial in enamel with Arabic numeral for the minutes and Roman for the hours, opening by a molded convex bezel, dauphine hands, the movement is surmounted by a flowered ribbon and in summit part of a covered pot closed in marble and gilded bronzes with decoration of garlands, pearls, and exploded grenade.

Architecture of a Cassolette ovoid form tripod candlestick (2): Rich set in the form of Athenian three heads of rams joined by garlands of falling flowers in chased and gilded bronzes, the base of the shaft decorated with laurel leaves and button, the whole is surmounted by the rounded element with two-way with its top a pomegranate exploded, all rests on a round base molding of pearls and rosette and three feet tops. The top turns over to form a candlestick with very rich moldings with evolutions and decorations and forming a fixed bobéche.
