    Love Triumphant Over War, Clock, in double-patina bronze, Louis XVI style, Napoleon III period.
    It consists of two elements: a marble base on four spinning top feet, decorated with friezes and rosettes. A cupid leans against the dial and presents a medallion adorned with a profile depicting an angel holding his quiver. On the other side of the dial, a helmet rests on a shield.
    The white enameled dial bears the signature of the clockmaker Berthold Paris. Roman and Arabic numerals indicate the hour and minutes. This clock chimes the hours and half-hours. The hands are gilded and chiseled in the rocaille style. The pendulum is beautifully gilded, and the winged angel has a black patina, making this clock unique for observing its details. On the back, we read Eug. Bazart, Paris. For Eugène Bazart, a skilled bronze sculptor known under Napoleon III.
