From the great German cartographer Sebastian Münster, this New Map of Africa is enhanced with blue watercolor for the coastlines, pink for the title cartouche, and yellow for the map's border. Place names are spelled in Latin. While the Cosmographia Universalis was published in Basel in 1544, this is likely the 1628 German edition. Dimensions: 33 x 37 cm.
