Gagon" type mask featuring a face with a large nose or beak extending into an articulated jaw attached by leather ties. There is still some leather studded with upholsterer's nails on the jaw. Originally, it must have had a beard made of animal skin. The eyes are narrow, surmounted by superciliary arches that meet at the top of the nasal bridge. The gaze is keen and piercing. A nail is driven into the forehead.
This mask has largely lost its original black lacquer.
Wood with a patina of use (brittleness and cracks around the bearing holes), metal, leather.
