    Small round steel shield, decorated with cut and applied brass crescent moon and four central cabochons. It is accompanied by a pair of spade antelope horns serving as the handle but also daggers, called singota.

    Madu, also called maru or maduvu, was used as early as the 16th century in India in the Tamil Silambam martial art.
