    DU JANERAND (Daniel), French painter born 1919, died 1990. A complete artist who mastered oil, gouache and pastel, Daniel du Janerand mastered the effects of light to give his works all the magic and sensitivity they required. He took part in renowned exhibitions in France and abroad, and is represented in numerous collections.
    This work, a pastel depicting a small village on the Mediterranean coast, dates from the 1980s. Signed by the artist in the lower right-hand corner of the composition.
