Rare antique SILVER sewing kit.
Motive: de la Fontaine's fable "La laitière et le pot au lait" (The milkmaid and the milk jug).
Comprising:
A pair of scissors
One Needle Case
Sewing punch
One thimble
Lace-up needle
The items are in MASSED SILVER, and are hallmarked Tête de Sanglier (Boar's Head).
They are in very, very good condition, and the motifs are clearly visible on all items, including the scissors.
The scissors are in good condition. The blades are sharp and cut through fabric.
The needle holder and punch are also in very good condition.
The thimble has no holes, and is in solid SILVER, also hallmarked with boar's head and Master's hallmark.
The case is covered with gilded leather. It is in good condition.
