Louis XVI period perfume box. Late 18th century. This box is veneered in rosewood on all sides. The top is inlaid with a three-ribbed border of green and yellow-stained wood. It has a bronze handle. The interior is adorned with a compass and its original silk lining. It contains four bottles with their stoppers, a glass, and a silver funnel. The bottom of the lid features a mercury mirror. The original lock is functional and fitted with an antique key. Recently finished with a French polish.
